Friendly Football Match between African F&G and the Fire Department of Francistown City Hall

At 8:00am on Nov. 9 at the Old Francistown Stadium, Botswana, the staff football team of African F&G played a friendly match with the team from the Fire Department of Francistown City Hall.

As summer has just passed in the Southern Hemisphere, it was cool outside and perfectly suitable for outdoor games and exercises. After F&G GM Zhu Huanwen and Mr. Mailosi, Director of the Fire Department, delivered their mobilization speeches, the match kicked off as the referee whistled the start of the game.

Passion of the audience and football players was ignited immediately. All players were highly-spirited and tried their best to win the game. The audience shouted their support out of the field. After intense and grueling competition, the African F&G got an 8-6 win over the Fire Department.

Football is the favorite exercise among people in Botswana and also the most popular in the city. The culture of football in the city has a long history and is enthusiastically welcome among local people. We could see football teams playing even on sand fields at weekends or on holidays.

Friendship First, competition second and all participants are appreciated. At the end of the match, players from both side shook hands and embraced each other, as well as took a group photo to mark the occasion. They also made exchange about the match.
