Recently, Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone held a theme activity to celebrate the International Labor Day 2024. The flavor food ingredient innovation team led by Dr. WANG Hongqiang from Huabao Scientific Innovation Center was awarded the title of “Wang Hongqiang Model Worker Innovation Studio in Jiading Industrial Zone in 2023”. The Analysis and Testing Center under Huabao Scientific Innovation Center was awarded the title of “the Workers’ Pioneer of Jiading Industrial Zone in 2023”. Huabao Trade Union Federation won the title of “Excellent Labor Union Organization of Jiading Industrial Zone in 2023”. Ms. YUAN Xiaoqin, President of Huabao Group, won the title of “Outstanding Labor Union Leader of Jiading Industrial Zone in 2023”. Dr. GUO Yaqin, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Analysis and Testing Center under Huabao Scientific Innovation Center, won the title of “Craftsman of Jiading Industrial Zone in 2023”. MU Jieqiang, Vice-chairman of Huabao Trade Union Federation, and Dr. Guo Yaqin from Huabao Scientific Innovation Center attended the event on behalf of the Company and the Trade Union Federation, and took the stage to accept the awards.

Dr. WANG Hongqiang used to win the title of “Shanghai Municipal Model Worker (2010-2014)” in 2015. After joining Huabao, he led his team to carry out innovative work on “flavor food ingredients” around the Company’s strategic mission of “green, nutritious and healthy”. Key topics of Dr. WANG’s Studio include “research on preparation of natural flavor substrate by Maillard reaction”, “encapsulation embedding and application of flavor ingredients and nutrients”, “development and application of natural flavor plant extracts”, “development and application of enzymolysis of dairy product concentrate”, etc., aiming to provide healthy food ingredients with perfect combination of color, aroma, taste and shape, product systematic solutions and comprehensive technical services for customers. In 2023, the Studio received approval of 5 company-level projects and carried out 1 international cooperation project with Bunge Loders (XIAMEN) Oils Technology Co., Ltd. and PORTSIM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), on the use of palm oil as raw materials for related technical research and product development. At the same time, their relevant newly developed products have achieved scale production and generate economic benefits.

The Analysis and Testing Center under Huabao Scientific Innovation Center is a well-trained, rigorous, and pragmatic team. The team is now composed of two doctors and a number of masters, and is responsible for collecting, understanding and mastering new technologies and new methods in food and other related industries at home and abroad, making full use of advanced instruments and equipment to continuously meet the Company’s internal scientific research and production testing needs, and independently developing and innovating analytical testing methods, mastering a variety of testing means and methods to improve product technical service capabilities and provide support for product quality control and optimization.

Under the guidance and care of the superior trade union, the support of the administrative units, the joint efforts of the members of the “Two Committees”, and the direct participation of our staff members, Huabao Trade Union Federation has been carrying out all the work with great success since its establishment in 2018. It has adhered to the working idea of bridging the employees and the Company to integrate into the society, protecting the interests of employees, serving the development of the Company, and caring about social development, and given full play to the role of trade unions as bridges and links to unite our staff and promote our development, thus to truly realize the common progress and harmonious development of the staff, the Company and the society. In recent years, the staff’s satisfaction on the work of Huabao Trade Union Federation has remained above 95%. In 2023, Huabao Trade Union Federation created peaceful and safe scenarios for employees, carried out professional “First Aid” training, and equipped with AED equipment to protect the life and health of employees. The Trade Union Federation was awarded one of “the Second Batch of Shanghai Municipal Demonstration Site for Grass-roots Trade Union Employee Member Supervision” and selected into the outstanding case set, the only one in Jiading Industrial Zone. This time, it was awarded the title of “Excellent Labor Union Organization of Jiading Industrial Zone in 2023”, which is the second time in a row that it received this award.

At the event, Ms. YUAN Xiaoqin, President of Huabao Group, Mr. YUAN Xiaolin, President and CEO of Volvo APAC, and other representatives from ten outstanding enterprises in Jiading Industrial Zone won the title of “Outstanding Labor Union Leader of Jiading Industrial Zone in 2023”, which commended their continuous strong support for the work of the trade union. This is also the second time that Ms. YUAN Xiaoqin has won this award. Since its establishment, Huabao Trade Union Federation has been spoken highly by the staff and achieved good results, which can’t do without the great support and care from Ms. YUAN. She said that she would continue to support the orderly development of the work of the trade union federation, give full play to its service and platform advantages in linking the staff and their families, create positive and good labor relations, stimulate the staff’s initiative and creativity, facilitate the sustainable development of the Company, and grow and progress with the Company.

Dr. GUO Yaqin, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Analysis and Testing Center under Huabao Scientific Innovation Center, has more than 10 years of work experience in the analysis of flavor substances, who has formed his unique innovative insights on analysis and detection methods, and has met the requirements of high efficiency and high precision in the output of flavor substances formula. Dr. GUO has presided over and participated in more than 10 R&D projects, and achieved good research results. At present, he has 4 invention patents, has published several papers in core journals of the industry. In 2016, he used to be selected in the third batch of the “Talent Leadership Plan” in Jiading Industrial Zone.
