ESG initiatives| from family to enterprise, we are creating better shared future

Employees are one of the significant factors in the social (S) dimension of corporate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). Employees’ sense of belonging and cultural behavior is an important channel for corporate ESG initiatives, which can improve enterprises’ attention to ESG and promote the development and implementation of corporate ESG.

Huabao Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd. (“Huabao” or “Company”) always adheres to the people-oriented concept, provides employees with a perfect salary and welfare system, sincerely cares for employees, meets the needs of employees, constantly enhances their sense of belonging and gain, forms a close community of interests with employees, and shares the same goals with them to create a win-win situation.

On May 25, 2024, Huabao 2024 Family Day activity (“Activity”) was held at Huabao Shanghai Industrial Park. Themed by “Fragrances Experience Season”, this Activity was carried out in the form of parent-child game, park tour, public welfare bazaar, aiming to strengthen the links between employees’ families and the enterprise, and between employees’ families and families. More than 100 employees at Huabao Shanghai Industrial Park and their families participated in the in-house big family get-together.

At the opening ceremony of the Activity, Ms. CHEN Jing, Chairman of the Trade Union Federation of Huabao Shanghai Industrial Park (“Huabao Trade Union Federation”), delivered a speech. First, she expressed her warm welcome and sincere thanks to the employees and their families. Ms. CHEN said that the family is the basic unit of society, and the Company can hardly develop without the support and dedication of each family. It is hoped that through the Family Day activity, families can enter the workplace of employees, understand their working environment and atmosphere, and allow the Company to have its presence in the family of each employee, so that we can work hand in hand to promote healthy and harmonious development among the Company, the employees’ families and their work and life.

Flavors discovery

For this Family Day activity, we specially organized a visit to the Company’s exhibition hall and a lecture on science popularization to make the families better understand the working environment and work contents of the employees. Mr. MU Jieqiang, Vice Chairman of the Huabao Trade Union Federation, took the employees’ families to visit the exhibition hall, understand the Company’s development history and taste the relevant products on site.

At the lecture on science popularization, Huabao’s technicians carried out science popularization and flavor experience course for the children, leading the children to explore the world of flavors. The children were so excited and curious, and got more scientific and intuitive cognition of the flavors.

Fragrances experience

We set up several DIY areas, such as DIY perfume satchel, aromatherapy product, environmental protection handbags, wool felt and others. Through the DIY games, employees and their families created unique works together, which not only exercised children’s hands-on ability, but also strengthened the interaction between employees and their families, showing the creativity and tacit understanding of employees’ families.

In the subsequent team games, the families were divided into four teams to participate in the games. The parents and their children were involved in the games. The rich and interesting team games not only boosted the relationship between the employees’ families, but also stimulated everyone’s positive and enterprising spirit and enhanced the ability of cooperation between the teams.

Pass on love

Huabao is a company that actively practices corporate social responsibility. In this Activity, we interspersed the public welfare and charity into the whole Activity, and passed on the love to the employees’ families and to the families in need of help in society.

In the “Books for Vegetables” area, the participating families actively donated books. In the last session of the Activity, we prepared a surprise prize for the participating families, and set up a special “Pursuit of Happiness” link - Dream Fund lucky draw, where employees could take the prize as their family’s dream fund or charity fund to help families in need. The charity fund will be used for the follow-up charitable activities in Jinzhai, Anhui.

Huabao has always attached great importance to employees’ welfare and care, and dedicated itself to bringing them better sense of belonging, thus realizing mutual achievement, mutual trust and common growth between the Company and employees. For important festivals such as Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-autumn Festival, and New Year’s Day, Huabao will deliver relevant heart-warming gifts to employees through Huabao Trade Union Federation. Furthermore, Huabao Trade Union Federation insists on organizing diversified activities, such as family day activity, team building activity, handwork training, AED first aid training and other training activities, to enrich employees’ cultural life. We have also buil a reassuring scene and Mommy’s House for employees, and constructed a good working environment for them, striving to create a warm and friendly family.
