Another Milestone in Internationalization Layout! The Groundbreaking Ceremony of PT. Huabao Food Technology Indonesia Complex Base Was Successfully Held

China and Indonesia are separated by the sea yet share a common destiny. 2025 marks the 75^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia. The two countries are embracing a more open stance to strengthen cooperation in new productive forces and comprehensively deepen their strategic partnership. As a practitioner of high-quality cooperation under the “Belt and Road” Initiative, Huabao is seizing new opportunities for cooperation between China and Indonesia, so as to embark on a new journey to expand its layout in Southeast Asia and even global market, and promote the Eastern wisdom of “harmonious coexistence and mutual benefit”.

Embarking on a New Journey in Indonesia, Composing a New Chapter of Cooperation

On the morning of May 7, 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony of PT. Huabao Food Technology Indonesia Complex Base was grandly held at the Jababeka Industrial Park in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Ms. YUAN Xiaoqin, president and member of the Board of Directors of Huabao, attended the event along with members of the Southeast Asia team of Huabao, including Dr. WANG Hongqiang (Vice President of Huabao Scientific Innovation Center), Mr. DUAN Jingwei (Director of Enterprise Management and Information Department), Ms. Ms. CHEN Jing (Director of Huabao Human Resource and Administration Department), and Mr. ZHENG Guoguan (General Manager of PT. Huabao Food Technology Indonesia). Leaderships from relevant Indonesian government agencies such as the Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal, the Bekasi Labor Department, the Cikarang East Police Station, Chairman of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Industry Business Association, the leaderships of the Indonesian Flavor and Fragrance Association, head of the Jababeka Industrial Park, commercial partners from various sectors in Indonesia including TOMORO COFFEE, Metaco, and United Chemicals, as well as media staff from Xinhua News Agency and People’s Daily, were also present at the ceremony and jointly witnessed this important moment.

At the ceremony site, Ms. YUAN delivered a warm and enthusiastic speech on behalf of Huabao and expressed sincere gratitude to the guests present and briefly reviewed Huabao’s 29-year development journey. Ms. YUAN pointed out that Huabao had always adhered to the vision of “Flavor Your Life” and has steadily advanced on the path of internationalization, and emphasized that Indonesia, as a crucial pivot of the “21^st Century Maritime Silk Road”, boasted unique geographical advantages and resource endowments, so it had become a strategic stronghold for Huabao’s global layout. The construction of the Indonesia base not only marked a crucial step forward in Huabao’s internationalization strategy, but also served as a significant testimony to the industrial cooperation between China and Indonesia. Ms. YUAN also quoted an Indonesian proverb, “Sugarcane grows in the same hole, lemongrass grows in clusters”, vividly illustrating Huabao’s firm determination to collaborate and achieve mutual success and win-win with Indonesian partners.

Subsequently, the leaderships from the Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal, the Bekasi Labor Department, the Cikarang East Police Station, Chairman of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Industry Business Association, the leaderships of the Indonesian Flavor and Fragrance Association, head of the Jababeka Industrial Park delivered speeches one after another. They extended warm congratulations on the project’s implementation and expressed high expectations for its positive impact on local economic development in the future, firmly believing that PT. Huabao Food Technology Indonesia Complex Base would become a new driving force for promoting local industrial upgrading and economic and social development.

Amid the joyous sounds of gongs and drums, the lion dance parade led the guests to the foundation stone. Ms. YUAN Xiaoqin, Mr. ZHENG Guoguan, and representatives from the Indonesian political and business circles jointly shoveled soil for the foundation stone and launched the project laser ball. With the sound of firecrackers and the start of construction machinery, the groundbreaking ceremony concluded successfully amidst warm applause and heartfelt wishes.

Deepening Southeast Asian Market Expansion, and Accelerating Internationalization Journey

In response to global development trends, Huabao has continuously accelerated its internationalization pace and actively expanded its overseas markets over the years. Huabao has accumulated rich overseas operational experience in Germany, Botswana, Africa, and other places. With the in-depth promotion of the national “Belt and Road” Initiative, Huabao has further strengthened its determination to “go global”.

In 2020, Huabao invested in establishing WARLBOR ASIA PACIFIC PTE.LTD in Singapore as the center for its development in Asia-Pacific region, and striving to build a globalized R&D, production, and sales network to achieve higher-quality development.

In 2021, Huabao established PT. HUABAO FOOD TECHNOLOGY INDONESIA, quickly expanding and penetrating the markets of Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and other Southeast Asian countries. Through active cooperation with local customers in flavor innovation, it has truly brought the “Huabao flavors” and “Chinese flavors” to the world.

Starting from 2023, to accelerate the internationalization process, Ms. YUAN led teams to conduct in-depth investigations and survey in Indonesia multiple times. In November 2023, Huabao Limited successfully purchased land in the Jababeka Industrial Park, where the advantageous geographical location, infrastructure, mature supporting services, and abundant customer resources laid a solid foundation for subsequent project construction.

In June 2024, the R&D and office building of PT. HUABAO FOOD TECHNOLOGY INDONESIA was officially inaugurated in the BSD Business District, known as the “Silicon Valley” of Jakarta, significantly enhancing Huabao’s business coordination capabilities in Indonesia and providing strong support for localized product R&D, technical services, and operations management.

Now, with the official groundbreaking of PT. Huabao Food Technology Indonesia Complex Base, Huabao’s overseas food business development has entered a new stage of industrial implementation, undoubtedly another significant milestone in its internationalization strategy. This project encompasses multiple functional areas such as flavor and ingredient production, R&D, and offices. After the Base is constructed and put into operation, its products and services will radiate to ASEAN consumer groups, providing stable and reliable product guarantees and technical support for emerging markets in Southeast Asia, assisting Huabao in fully integrating into the international market, and continuously enhancing its strength in the fierce global market competition.

In addition, the Indonesia project serves as a vivid example of industrial collaboration and profound friendship between China and Indonesia, which will vigorously promote in-depth cooperation between the two countries in food flavors and ingredients, and facilitate the deep integration and coordinated development of their industrial and supply chains.
