Focusing on New Development Drivers! Francistown Mayor Conducted In-depth Investigation and Survey on F&G BOTSWANA, Jointly Mapped Out Cooperation Blueprint

On May 6, 2025, Hon. Gaone Majere, the Mayor of Francistown, the second-largest city in Botswana, led a delegation of 10 officials from Francistown Government to conduct an in-depth investigation and survey to F&G BOTSWANA factory. Mr. ZHU Huawen, General Manager of F&G BOTSWANA, warmly received the delegation along with the management team.

At around 2 p.m., the Mayor and his delegation arrived at F&G BOTSWANA. The staff of F&G BOTSWANA lined up on both sides of the company gate, clapping and shouting “Welcome, welcome, warm welcome...” to express their sincere welcome to the guests.

Subsequently, the delegation proceeded to the conference room for a discussion session. During the session, Mr. ZHU Huawen provided a detailed introduction to the overall situation and development layout of Huabao, its core business segments, and global strategy. He emphasized that Huabao, relying on its diversified development path and continuous innovation capabilities, had consistently maintained its leading position in the industry, and the F&G factory, as a high-quality raw material production and processing base in Botswana, played a crucial role.

When discussing the development history of F&G, Mr. ZHU presented numerous pictures and videos in various stages of development. He recalled that since its establishment in 2007, F&G had overcome numerous challenges such as a shortage of talent, resources, and supporting industrial chains in Africa. Through technological innovation and lean management, F&G has gradually grown into an industry benchmark, with products exported to both domestic and international markets. In terms of contributing to local development, the F&G factory has played an active role, currently employing nearly 30 local individuals, effectively alleviating regional employment pressure and contributing significant tax revenue to the government. Additionally, through rich corporate cultural activities, vocational training, and skill development programs, the F&G factory has fostered a unique corporate culture that inherits the genetic code of Huabao's culture, advocates for mutual learning and sharing between China and Botswana, and enhances employees' sense of belonging and happiness.
Looking ahead, Mr. ZHU proposed that the F&G factory would further implement a localization strategy, focus on product production and technological upgrading, expand broader market territories, deepen cooperation with local and overseas upstream and downstream enterprises to drive coordinated development of the industrial chain, and place particular emphasis on building and cultivating a local talent pool to lay a solid foundation for its high-quality development. Furthermore, Mr. ZHU candidly reported on the practical difficulties faced by the enterprise during operations, such as talent acquisition, inadequate policy support, and difficulties in obtaining visas and work permits, hoping for government support to assist F&G in achieving better development.

After listening attentively to the report, the mayor fully affirmed and highly praised F&G's outstanding contributions to the local economy, employment, and cultural construction. He pledged that the government would actively coordinate with relevant departments and make efforts in terms of policy support, land use, labor and other resource connections to effectively help F&G solve problems. At the same time, he anticipated that the F&G factory would continue to play a leading and exemplary role, collaborate more with local enterprises, and inject strong impetus into the local economic development.

After the discussion session, accompanied by Mr. ZHU, the mayor and his delegation visited the production workshop of the F&G factory to observe the production process, equipment operation, and product quality control in person. The advanced intelligent manufacturing equipment, efficient production lines, and strict quality inspection system allowed the research team to directly experience Huabao's modern production level and innovative strength.
This investigation and survey has built a bridge for in-depth communication between the government and F&G, laying a solid foundation for subsequent deepened cooperation and coordinated development. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both sides, the F&G factory will achieve new breakthroughs and continue to add new impetus to the globalization of Huabao's business and the development of new productive forces in Francistown.
