F&G Invited Doctors from the Chinese Medical Aid Team in Botswana to Conduct Lectures on Disease Prevention and Control

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, on September 25th, 2019, F&G Botswana (Pty) Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “African F&G”) under the control of Huabao Flavours & Fragrances Co.，Ltd. welcomed Dr. HOU Peifeng, the leader of the 15th batch ofFrancistown sub-team of Botswana medical aid team from China (Fujian), andtwo deputy chief physicians, the team members HE Shaohua and NI Chenxi. They were specially invited to give lectures on disease prevention and control for all employees.
The spring equinox in the southern hemisphere has just passed, with dark clouds covering the sun and low temperature, indicating the upcoming ofthe rainy season in Botswana. The medical team experts have worked tirelessly to prepare lessons, which inspired the enthusiasm of everyone to listen carefully and understand the training spirit.
HE Shaohua, the deputy chief physician from the Snake Injury Treatment Center of the People's Hospital of Fujian Province, divided the lecture into two parts.
The first part was the prevention of snake injury and pre-hospital treatment. The rainy season in Botswanabroughtabout frequent snake pests and a high incidence of snake injuries. At this time, the lecture on this topic was relevant and adapting to the current situation.
Participants were very interested in the rare lecture of Snake Injury andasked questions frequently, and all received patient and detailed answers.
The second part was the knowledge about disease prevention and control of AIDS and other diseases. Director HE made a deep and simple explanation, which was easy to understand and impressive.
At the session, the lecturer was full of passion and the staff were concentrated. During the Q&A session, everyone had a passionate discussion. After the lecture was over, everyone gave a strong response to the tutor's explanation, indicating that such lectures were of great significance, especially in Botswana. Due to the lack of professional doctors, such lectures were scarce, so they hoped to carry out more similar lectures in the future.
Since its establishment, African F&G has implemented a localization policy and employed more than 85% of local Botswana employees, reducing local unemployment. At the same time, the company attaches great importance to the improvement of the skills and knowledge and physical and mental health growth of their employees, especially the local employees. The holding of these activities not only contributed to the improvement of personal skills and ideological growth of employees but also was welcomed and supported by the local government and the Chinese Embassy in Botswana. They won the Botswana “Enterprise Growth Contribution Award” many times and also acted as a benefit for Chinese companies to go global and set a benchmark for overseas development. In addition, these activities have become a window for local employees and even the government to understand China and participate in the construction of the “Belt and Road”, feel the development and progress of China by constantly acquiring information available, practice the spirit of the “Forum on China-Africa Cooperation”, and understand the support for the development of Africa.
