Gupa Village, Naqu County, Tibet Sending a Letter of Thanks to Huabao for Investing and Assisting in Constructing Yak Breeding Base to Overcome Poverty

In this October, the heady fragrance of laurel blossoms is wafted through the fresh air in Shanghai, while in Naqu County, Tibet, over 3,800km far away from Shanghai and with the average elevation of 4,500m, the temperature has dropped to below zero. On October 10, the Village Committee Office of Gupa Village, Naqu County was full of warmness and joy, for the cadre representative of the Village was writing a letter of thanks to Huabao Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd. (“Huabao”), to express their gratitude to Huabao for assisting the villagers in constructing Yak Breeding Base to overcome poverty.

Dear Huabao Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd.,

Please allow the Village Committee to express our gratitude to your Company on behalf of all villagers, for your assistance in constructing the Yak Breeding Base project in our village. The yaks in the byres grow very well, bringing more milk and milk products, and thus our villagers have obtained more revenue.

At the end of 2019, under the leadership of the Party and local government, with the help from the caring enterprises represented by Huabao, Gupa Village have overcome poverty. We are so happy for this. Now, there are more yaks in our Village, and our villagers become more prosperous and have built some new houses. Our lives are getting better and better.

In the pasturing area, one person who gets help from others must give something back. Upon discussion, our Village hereby writes this Letter of Thanks to your Company to express our gratitude. Thank you for your help. We wish your Company booming business, and all of your employees good health and good luck. Tashi Delek!

It will be a time for us to slaughter the yaks. We sincerely invite your Company to visit our Village. Then we will get beef, yogurt and LALA (editor’s note: one local diary products) ready. We will deliver you white Hada (a piece of silk used as a greeting gift) and our sincere wishes!

To respond to the call of the national policies including reducing poverty through industrial development and targeted poverty alleviation, to earnestly perform its obligations and responsibilities as a listed company, the Company has been making donation, contributing to society, serving and helping the masses. At the beginning of 2018, thanks to the contact and coordination of the Working Crew in Gupa Village of Tibet People's Government in Shanghai, the “Yak Breeding Base for Poverty Alleviation of Gupa Village, Naqu County – ‘Dairy Farming’ Assistance Project by Huabao Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd” was put on the agenda. The leadership of the Company paid high attention to the Assistance Project. After acquiring the detailed the feasibility plan and the future implementation plan of the Project, the Company dispatched a team to visit Gupa Village, Naqu County for field survey in July 2018. This Project mainly includes purchasing high-quality dairy cow and improving the dairy farming base; thus, it could not only improve the feeding improvement for yaks and reduce their death rates, but also enhance the milk production and assist the herdsmen in Tibetan areas to get rid of poverty and become better off. At present, this Project has been implemented and created values for local headsmen, and Gupa Village overcame poverty at the end of 2019.

One of the valuable cultural DNAs of Huabao is to actively fulfill social responsibilities and social duties. The Company takes root in the plateau and keeps Tibet in its heart.
