Production Safety| Guangzhou Owada Carried out Special Investigation and Control over Potential Safety Hazards in Summer

In order to further implement the requirements of its production safety management system, fulfill the responsibilities of the units’ production safety management, and effectively deal with the adverse impact of summer thunderstorms and high temperature weather on the its production work, Owada Flavours Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. (“Guangzhou Owada” or the “Company”) carried out a series of special actions to investigate and control potential safety hazards under the guidance of Huabao’s production safety work and combined with the actual situation of the Industrial Park, thus to further promote the effective implementation of special actions to investigate and control potential safety hazards in summer in the industrial park.

Firstly, preventing and resolving hazards at the source, and strengthening the investigation and control responsibility

According to the requirements of laws and regulations, the Company has established a sound safety hazard investigation and control system, developed a potential safety hazards investigation and control responsibility system, clarified the institutional framework, responsible person and division of responsibilities, divided the investigation areas according to the factory, living area and work section, defined the responsible person in each area, implemented the post responsibility system and the safety production responsibility system for all employees, required all employees to establish a sense of safety compliance, and always put safety production first.

Since September, Guangdong Province has been hit by super typhoons “Saola” and “Haikui”, the highest level for precaution. The Company has attached great importance to such typhoons, insisted on the bottom-line thinking and limit thinking, overcome the paralyzing thought and relaxed mentality, and carried out targeted reinforcement and inch-by-inch dredging of low-lying water-prone points and high-altitude construction danger points in the whole factory area, and prepared flood control materials, strengthened emergency watch-over, and implemented safety measures in detail, thus to do a good job in super typhoon defense according to the most stringent requirements and the most practical measures and on a war footing, and go all out to ensure the safety of the industrial park.

Secondly, carrying out special inspection in advance to consolidate the intrinsic safety

Recently, Guangzhou has been facing extremely severe weather, with high temperature, thunderstorms and lightning, extremely strong winds and precipitation taking place randomly.

In order to prevent disasters caused by bad weather and build a “safety dam” in the summer flood season, the Company has continued to increase the safety inspection and supervision in the industrial park, and carried out a series of special actions to investigate potential safety hazards, including special inspections on the industrial park’s glass curtain wall, key fire control sites, power distribution and transformer substations, special equipment, long oil and gas pipelines in the plant areas, gas safety, precaution for flood season, rain and sewage diversion, staff dormitory safety, and precaution for the four pests. Personnel of the Company have made preparation in an all-around way to ensure smooth channel for potential safety hazards investigation and control, and do a good job in the intrinsic safety of all places in the industrial park.

Thirdly, intensifying publicity and raising awareness of prevention and reduction of disasters among all staff

In order to enhance the awareness of prevention and reduction of disasters of employees in the industrial park, and allow all employees to strictly control the safety gate within their respective accountability, the Company has increased the education and publicity of extreme weather response knowledge and defense precautions, and effectively enhanced the reliability of “safety redundancy” in the park.

Safety is the guarantee for enterprises to develop production and improve efficiency. Guangzhou Owada will continue to improve its safety management system, pay close attention to the key parts that may cause hazards during flood season, carry out scientific prevention and control measures to timely detect the disaster symptoms, and move people or items that may be at risk in advance.
