Forge ahead with original intention to enlighten the path to success Huabao’s middle and senior executives retraced the footprints of the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC)

At No.76, Xingye Road in Shanghai, you can see the arch made of gray bricks and the black-painted copper knocker. This Shikumen-style old building shines brightly in the cold wind of the severe winter. Here is the site of the first National Congress of the CPC (“National Congress”). Our great, glorious, and right CPC was founded here. Here is the beginning of the New Democratic Revolution, which changed the destiny of the Chinese nation and eliminated the evils of feudal colonialism. The CPC has begun to write an epic history here. From then on, the Chinese nation has moved from national turmoil and instability to “China Speed” and “China Miracle”!

As a national enterprise with a history of hundreds of years, Huabao Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd. (“Huabao” or “Company”) has always been of one heart and mind with the CPC and followed in its footsteps. In order to carry out the theme education activities in a profound way, Ms. YUAN Xiaoqin, President and member of the Board of Directors of Huabao, led the company’s middle and senior executives to retrace the founding journey of the Party and visit the sacred place for the first National Congress of the CPC on January 23, 2024, standing at the “origin” of the CPC, strengthening the foundation of our faith, reinforcing the spiritual calcium, and securing the rudder of thought.

Draw striving power from the CPC’s great founding spirit

Ms. YUAN and the delegation first visited the exhibition themed by “The Great Beginning - the Founding History of the Communist Party of China” (“Exhibition”). The Exhibition is an epic display of the CPC, from its preparation to its founding, and its remarkable history to raise hope in turmoil, save the people from an abyss of suffering, advocate reform in twists and turns, and forge ahead to build moderately prosperous society. Walking through the Exhibition, they saw how the CPC broke through the silent dark night, and explored the ideological awakening and seeking of the ancestors for the liberation of the people and the rejuvenation of the nation.

They stopped and meditated for a long time in front of precious historical photos and cultural relics of martyrs, felt the ancestors’ pursuit and choice of the revolutionary road, and appreciated the revolutionary course and the “great founding spirit” of the CPC from its initial establishment to its maturity.

Although the past has been the history, the sound of the era is still ticking. Then, they walked through a narrow aisle and into an 18-square-meter room at the end, namely the original site of the first National Congress of the CPC. The guide introduced with so rich feelings that everyone seemed to be in the scene of the National Congress: 103 years ago, 13 delegates, of an average age of only 28, sounded the clarion call for the awakening and rise of the nation and announced the founding of the CPC. Outside the door，they were surrounded by secret agents and threatened by growing crisis; and inside the door, they were debating and cheering. In the dim light, the delegates outlined the appearance of communism, and their hearts were filled with the ideal of saving the country and benefiting the people.

A single spark can start a prairie fire, and small rivers eventually converge into the sea. At the birthplace of the CPC, the starting point of its original intention, and the incubation place of the CPC’s great founding spirit, everyone was keenly aware of the hard-won victory of the Chinese revolution, and understood that any promising undertaking, although small at the beginning, will grow very great when it is about to be completed.

Ms. YUAN pointed out that we should transform the perception of the CPC’s great founding spirit into an inexhaustible driving force for future work, internalize this spirit in mind and externalize it in action, build a strong foundation for the spirit of Huabao people, well deal with the challenges of the times, and write Huabao’s new story on the new journey!

Undertake Huabao’s responsibility in Chinese Modernization

Before we act, we should have a clear goal. Starting from Shikumen in Shanghai, we have run over the tall buildings, the fields of hope, the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the modern new town. The CPC history talks the struggle, tells the right way, inspires the present, and beacons the future. The history and the present and the history and the future intersected when we retraced the footprints of the first National Congress of the CPC in the new era. While we commemorate the history, we cherish the present and look forward to the future.

To retrace the footprints of the first National Congress of the CPC is a journey of strengthening our conviction. We retrace the CPC’s footprints so that we can better start off. The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China as our great motherland and is also a key year for fully implementing the spirit of the 20^th National Congress of the CPC. We should draw strong impetus from the CPC’s great founding spirit, uphold the spirits of “making full use of every minute and being always ready for challenges”, do a solid work, make great achievements, and strive to create new miracles and constantly show Huabao’s new look in the process of Chinese modernization.

In the future, Huabao will actively promote the entrepreneurial spirit, firmly establish the concept of high-quality development, and consciously integrate the Company’s struggle into the joint struggle of the CPC and the people.
