Facilitating Enterprise Transformation & Upgrading and Staff Self-improvement for Better Future - The Third Session of the Second Membership Representative Conference of the Trade Union Federation of Huabao Shanghai Industrial Park Was Successfully Held

At 10:00 on March 8, 2024, the Third Session of the Second Membership Representative Conference of the Trade Union Federation of Shanghai Industrial Park of Huabao Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd. (Huabao) was held at the Beijing-Shanghai Hall of Huabao Shanghai Industrial Park. A total of nearly 50 staff representatives from departments Huabao and Shanghai H&K Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd. (Shanghai H&K) attended the Conference. HOU Xiaoqin, Vice-president and Secretary of the Board of Huabao, was invited to attend the conference. The Conference, hosted by MU Jieqiang, Vice-chairman of Huabao Trade Union Federation, opened in the magnificent national anthem.

Commissioned by the committees of the Trade Union Federation of Huabao Shanghai Industrial Park, MU Jieqiang, Vice-chairman of the Trade Union Federation, YIN Jinmei, member of the Expenditure Audit Committee, and MA Bufeng, Director of the Expenditure Audit Committee, successively delivered the 2023 Annual Work Report and 2024 Annual Work Plan of the Second Committee of the Trade Union Federation, its 2023 Financial Work Report and Budget for 2024, and the 2023 Annual Work Report of the Second Expenditure Audit Committee, which were submitted to the Conference and approved.

In the report, MU Jieqiang mentioned that in 2023, the Trade Union Federation had always adhered to the working idea of “bridging the enterprise and the employees”, and strived to foster sound relation between the enterprise and the employees to facilitate the sustainable development of enterprise and the realization of employee value. In the past year, under the care and support of the leadership of Huabao Group and the active participation and joint efforts of the majority of the employee members, the Trade Union Federation  made good achievements and breakthroughs. The Union Federation organized family day activities to enhance the interaction and understanding between enterprises and employees' families. The Union Federation organized autumn outreach activities to adjust the pace of staff work and promote their communication and relationship. The Union Federation set up a reassuring scene for employees, carried out professional courses training on “CPR AED” and “First Aid”, and equipped with 6 AED equipment to ensure the life, health and safety of employees. The Union Federation organized and called on employees to carry out charitable donation activities in Jinzhai, practicing social responsibility and carrying forward the spirit of dedication. The Union Federation cared about and protected the rights and interests of female employees, carried out wonderful Women’s Day activities, and improved the operation of Huabao Mommy’s House. Our staff and teams won a series of honors such as Jiading District Model Worker Innovation Studio, the Workers’ Pioneer of Jiading Industrial Zone, Contemporary Craftsman of Jiading Industrial Zone, Outstanding Trade Union Organization of Jiading Industrial Zone and more. The Union Federation improved the welfare system to protect the interests of employees, established and improved the “year-round” conference supervision mechanism, carried out satisfaction surveys, and strengthened the democratic supervision role of trade union work. Therefore, the Union Federation was awarded the “second batch of municipal demonstration site for Shanghai grass-roots trade union employee member supervision” and selected into the outstanding case, the only one in Jiading Industrial Zone. In addition, the Union Federation also organized other training and cultural activities to enrich the spare time life of employees, provided or rented sports venues to encourage staff to strengthen physical exercise. Next, the Union Federation will continue to work hard with the majority of employee members to make the work more impressive, and invest more passion into works in a new year. Besides, the Union Federation will join hands with the enterprise to move towards a better future.

In the report on the financial work, YIN Jinmei stressed in particular that the financial work of the Trade Union Federation is based on the principle of “balance of revenue and expenditure, and expenditure within income”. We have strictly controlled the Union's financial affairs, kept track of every account, and spent every penny where it counts the most. MA Bufeng pointed out in the report on the audit work that the Expenditure Audit Committee have fully performed the duties of reviewing the expenditure of the Trade Union Federation, supervised each expense and expenditure, and reviewed the legal compliance of each expense.

At the Conference, relevant member representatives interacted with the members of the “two committees” on the work report and the work of the Trade Union Federation, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions.

At the Conference, Huabao also commended “Huabao craftsmen”, “the most beautiful workers”, “excellent trade union cadres” and “trade union activists”. After recommendation and selection, Dr. GUO Yaqin, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Analysis and Testing Center of Huabao Scientific Innovation Center, won the title of the first “Huabao Craftsman” of Huabao Trade Union Federation. ZHAO Xiaojiao, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai H&K, won the title of the first “most beautiful worker”. XU Huaye, member of the Organization Committee, and KANG Jing, member of the Legal Affairs Committee, won the title of “Excellent Trade Union Cadres” in 2023. Ten members, including XU Jinbai, LU Zhaonian, TANG Lichun, ZHU Weiguo, WANG Xiaolong, XU Shuangyu, WANG Xing, QI Chunxia, RAO Yufang and ZHU Yunfei, won the title of “2023 Trade Union Activists”.

Ms. CHEN Jing, Chairman of Huabao Trade Union Federation, pointed out in her speech that at present, the Trade Union Federation has established a relatively complete training and activity system, employee welfare system, female employee rights and interests protection system, and member supervision system, carried out new attempts and new explorations in the practice of employee care and public welfare charity, and achieved good results, greatly mobilizing the enthusiasm of employees and increasing their happiness. Of course, all this is inseparable from the leadership care and support of our administrative units, Huabao Group, and Shanghai H&K. In the future, Huabao Trade Union Federation will firmly fulfill the work as always, give full play to the role of the Trade Union as a bridge between the enterprises and the employees, serve the employees and connect with the enterprise well, make the employees’ life more wonderful and the enterprise more dynamic. We will dedicate to value creation and win-win situation.

In her speech, Ms. HOU Xiaoqin, Vice-president and Secretary of the Board of Huabao, first congratulated on the success of the Conference on behalf of the Company. Ms. HOU pointed out in her speech that Huabao Trade Union Federation has done a lot of work since its establishment, not only bringing vital benefits to employees, but also providing strong support for the Company. Some of the work, such as the Jinzhai Charity Project, has corresponded well to the Company’s ESG strategy in recent years. At present, in a critical period of transformation and upgrading, the Company has been constantly upgrading as it develops, optimizing policies and adjusting measures to adapt to different challenges. It is hoped that in the future, the Trade Union Federation will organically combine the work of the trade unions with the Company’s strategy and industrial transformation, thus to achieve joint development, stimulate the creativity and work enthusiasm of employees in a multi-pronged approach, and help the Company move forward steadily. The Company will also continue to support the work of the Trade Union Federation and look forward to working with the Trade Unions and employees to create a more brilliant future.

The Conference ended successfully along with the lofty music of The Internationale.
