Persisting in High-quality Development | Huabao's Wind ESG Rating Has Jumped to Level A

On August 1, 2024, Wind, an ESG rating agency, officially released the latest annual ESG rating data for 2024. The latest rating of Huabao rose two consecutive levels from BB in 2023 to A in 2024, with the comprehensive ESG score of 7.22, ranking 10th out of the 240 companies in the food industry included in the selection, and 5th out of the listed companies in Chinese food industry. Huabao is also the only listed company in the domestic flavor and fragrance industry that has been rated as Level A.

Regarding this rating-

According to public data, the number of Chinese companies in the food industry that have reached Level A or above only accounts for 6.25%. Huabao scored 4.92, 7.78, and 5.58 in terms of environmental, social, and governance, respectively, which exceeded the industry average, indicating that Huabao has achieved significant results in implementing ESG concepts.

The ESG rating system of Wind defines companies that receive Level A as having "high corporate management level, low ESG risk, and strong sustainable development capabilities". Huabao has been adhering to and practicing the development mission of "green, nutritious, and healthy", providing customers with product flavor system solutions and comprehensive technical services, and promoting the integration of ESG concepts into its strategic development and daily operations.

In terms of governance, Huabao has officially elevated its ESG work to a strategic level, established and improved its ESG governance system, and set up the Strategy and ESG Committee under the Board of Directors, providing unified leadership, decision-making, and organizational implementation for ESG work, offering guarantee for the promotion of ESG work, and laying a solid foundation to achieve long-term value creation.
