Huabao’s care for our “Flowers (Funding Targets)”

On July 31, 2024, the day just before the Army Day, the sun was burning. On such a hot day, MU Jieqiang, Vice Chairman of Huabao Trade Union Federation, together with MA Xiangqun, Deputy Director of Food Innovation Center of Huabao Scientific Innovation Center, and YIN Jinmei, CFO of Shanghai Yifang Rural Technology Holdings Co., Ltd. and Director Assistant of the Finance Department of Huabao Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd. (“Huabao” or “Company”), visited Jinzhai in Anhui Province. Jinzhai is known as “the Cradle of the Red Army, the Hometown of Generals, an important source of the Chinese Revolution and an important birthplace of the People’s Army”. Accompanied by XIAO Jie, Vice President of Jinzhai (Shanghai) Entrepreneurs Association and a civil affairs cadre of Wujiadian Town and Banzhuyuan Town, they visited the students under the targeted funding program offered by Huabao and Huabao Trade Union Federation, and delivered to them the financial aid from Huabao employees and the partner-assistance families and the books donated by the families in the Company’s Family Day public welfare activity - “Books in Exchange for Vegetables”. In addition, they also conducted field research on the Company’s proposed rural teaching site funding program in Jinzhai to evaluate the feasibility and implementation of the funding program. Jinzhai is known as "the Hometown of Ganoderma Lucidum in China”. On the morning of their return, they also visited the Ganoderma lucidum planting base.

In October last year, Huabao Trade Union Federation launched the public welfare student aid activity - “Flower Growth Scheme”. We contacted the Jinzhai Charity Association through the Jinzhai (Shanghai) Entrepreneurs Association to communicate about the implementation of public welfare student aid in Jinzhai, an old revolutionary base area. Through the efforts of the three parties, 10 outstanding students who got into trouble due to family changes were finally identified to receive long-term funding from Huabao and Huabao Trade Union Federation. Some of them unfortunately have lost their parents or one of their parents, or one of their parents has lost their labor force due to illness. They got into trouble, but still love life and study hard. Our long-term targeted funding program aims to help them keep their mind on studying, build confidence, and grow into talents while making them feel the warmth and care from society. At the end of November last year, the Company also organized personnel to pay an on-site visit, and successfully completed the first step of the targeted funding program, which caused a strong response both in the Company and society. Immediately after the visit, some employees immediately approached the person in charge of the program, saying that they would conduct family partner assistance and do their best to help these children and families. At present, without any internal mobilization, we have completed the family partner assistance of 7 groups of employees and families, which is also a solid second step in our “Flower Growth Scheme” public welfare student aid activity in Jinzhai. Next, we will collect more employees’ willingness for family partner assistance, and conduct comprehensive assessment and scientific paring. We will deliver every loving heart directly to the members receiving our family partner assistance, warm and encourage them to pursue a better life. In the coming year, we will tap various resources and plan to carry out research and practice activities for students funded by us in Jinzhai to come to Shanghai, open a wider window for them to see a better world. We also hope to plant the seeds of beautiful dreams in their hearts and encourage them to fight for their dreams.

In addition to targeted funding for 10 students and family partner assistance for needy families, we have planned to increase the funding programs and launch the rural teaching site funding program in Jinzhai with the strong support and concern from the Company’s leaders. It is understood that with the acceleration of urbanization and the influx of population into cities, many rural primary schools have gradually been withdrawn and merged. However, as Jinzhai is in Dabie Mountainous Area, there are still some rural areas to retain rural teaching points to facilitate children in mountainous areas and left-behind children to go to school. Each teaching point may have 50-60 students, or as few as 20-30 ones. These teaching points are basically built based on the original buildings of Hope Primary Schools. Due to long years of disrepair and remote location, there are many prominent problems, such as poor school environment and unstable teaching staff. To improve the students’ learning environment and stabilize the teaching team as much as possible, Huabao has planned to fund the rural teaching sites with prominent outstanding problems to be settled urgently. By cooperating with the education departments, we intend to use the funds to renovate the school sites, provide necessary learning and living equipment and supplies for the teachers and students in the teaching sites, and reward and motivate the excellent teachers and students.

Education is a primary task that is crucial for generations to come. Education is the cornerstone of national rejuvenation and social progress. Huabao always firmly believes that the best way to feed and invest in society is to devote ourselves to education and contribute to education. For Jinzhai, an old revolutionary base area with traditional red DNA, society, enterprises and individuals should make our small efforts to facilitate the education in such old revolutionary base areas, help the children here to obtain knowledge, study hard, and harvest a better future. We are supposed to help them grow into talents, give back to their hometown, and serve the motherland. Therefore, Huabao is aware of the heavy responsibility on its shoulders, and will earnestly implement various programs in the “Flower Growth Scheme”, take pragmatic and long-term actions to facilitate the education and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
