Creating an Innovative Partnership! Singapore Polytechnic and Huabao Asia Pacific built a bridge for industry-university-research cooperation

On February 26, 2025, Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Huabao Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Huabao Asia Pacific” or the “Company”) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a collaboration in the fields of Flavors & Fragrances, food technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and digitalization with an aim to drive industry innovation and development. This cooperation will leverage various channels, including talent cultivation and scientific research innovation, to provide the industry with high-quality professionals and further promote the deep industry-university-research integration.

At the signing ceremony, Ms. Georgina Phua, Vice President of SP, and Ms. Tan Yen Yen, Senior Director of the Business and Creative Industries Cluster, represented SP. Mr. ZHENG Guoguan, Executive Deputy General Manager of Huabao Asia Pacific, and Mr. Herman Tan, Deputy General Manager of Huabao Asia Pacific, represented the Company to complete the signing event.

During the ceremony, Mr. ZHENG Guoguan delivered a speech on behalf of Mr. XIA Liqun, Chairman of Huabao Flavours & Fragrances Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Huabao”), and Ms. YUAN Xiaoqin, Director and President of Huabao. He stated that SP had professional advantages in food biotechnology and sustainable research in food science, which were aligned closely with Huabao’s global advocacy for green, nutritious, healthy, and natural ingredient research. This cooperation would focus on fields such as enzymatic fermentation processes, circular food systems, AI-empowered natural fermentation flavor applications, and future food co-creation, driving industry innovation and development.

By combining SP’s strengths in academic research and talent cultivation with Huabao Asia Pacific’s rich practical experience and market resources in the industry, this cooperation would not only facilitate the rapid transformation of cutting-edge research results into practical productivity, promoting technological upgrades and innovative development in the industry, but also support Huabao’s research and production of green, nutritious, and healthy products, bringing more high-quality and innovative products and services to global consumers.
